"Pharmacology, Pregnancy and the Postpartum Period: Managing Depression"

September 28, 2006
                from 8:30am - 3:30pm
Wilshire Grand Hotel, West Orange, NJ
It is estimated that between 11,000 and 16,620 women in New Jersey suffer from postpartum depression annually. A growing body of research suggests that maternal depression can have serious negative effects on the developing fetus and infant in the perinatal period, and can lead to future child psychopathology. This conference will focus on the treatment of perinatal mood disorders, with an emphasis on current pharmacologic therapies, other treatment options, and screening.
