                The NNJM/CHC is an independent non-profit health planning agency licensed by the New Jersey State Department of Health and Senior Services (NJDHSS) to be the hub of regional obstetric and pediatric health care services for women and children in Bergen, Essex, Morris and Passaic counties. At the "home" of the Consortium, in Paramus, New Jersey, the quest to improve access to quality and risk appropriate health services for women and children, begins.

                The Black Infant Mortality Reduction Center (BIMR) strives to increase professional and public awareness by serving as a statewide and national educational clearinghouse for health care professionals and consumers. BIMR provides technical support to individuals interested in improving maternal and infant health in Black families, promoting increased research and education. The Center mobilizes the community towards greater empowerment, operating a speaker’s bureau and conducting outreach projects, implementing strategies to decrease the frequency of low birth infants. One of the projects run through the Center is "Reduced Stress for Baby’s Best." The program provides one-on-one stress management sessions to pregnant Black women to reduce their incidence of low birth weight and premature births.

                HMHB of Essex is an affiliate of the Northern NJ Maternal/Child Consortium. The HM/HB of Essex initiates programs that bring women into prenatal care and children into pediatric care.
